And he talked a lot about his job and about how much he loved it, but he also stressed how much he loved his family and how much he loved spending time with them. I did an interview with Howard when I was in college for a class at Temple University. When I asked him about that, he said his true love is his fiancée, Valarie. He has found a job where he can combine his two true loves of sports and music. How much he enjoys being a Philly guy, talking Philly sports with Philly people. What struck me during the interview is how happy he is with everything he does. That dawned on me Monday while interviewing Spike for a story that I thought was going to be about his job as the social media director for the WIP Facebook and Twitter page. ![]() They are both jacks of all trades and extremely hard workers, but the thing that sticks out the most to me is that both men are doing exactly what they want to do, and both are really good guys. ![]() Howard mocks things like fantasy football and wrestling.īut as different as they are over the airwaves, they are essentially the same in real life, at least in my opinion. His son Spike, who started on SportsRadio WIP about two years ago, is new school. Howard Eskin, a hall of famer, is old school. On the air, the father and son couldn’t be any more different.
